Overview

The Ladders is seeking a motivated and self-assured professional to join our finance team as a Senior Cost Analyst. This role will provide essential support to the Corporate Controller in various financial operations, including financial closing, banking transactions, and comprehensive reporting.

The Senior Cost Analyst will undertake a range of responsibilities, such as overseeing internal controls and policies, aiding in the preparation of financial statements, managing journal entries, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.

This position encompasses all facets of the accounting department, including cost analysis, inventory management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for balance sheets and profit & loss statements.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Experience in profit & loss analysis and a foundational understanding of cost accounting principles.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and accurately report on the financial results for the current month.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor and document daily banking activities, ensuring timely and precise postings to the general ledger.
  • Oversee cash collections and disbursements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and reported results, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods, reconciling it with production, shipping, and returns regularly.
  • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.
  • Assist with data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other operational accounting tasks.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Maintain month-end schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage the fixed asset ledger and record monthly depreciation as necessary.
  • Review and maintain the benefits schedule and post monthly entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze financial data to identify significant or unusual activities.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory counts.
Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with relevant experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Adept at working independently, critically thinking, and contributing quality ideas to enhance organizational processes.
