MAIN FUNCTIONSThe Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will perform or coordinate effort for cost estimate preparation, estimating oversight and quality assurance reviews for Company operated and Other Builder Operator estimates for all Gate and Funding milestones.The Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will also prepare Check Estimates and Schedules to compare with Operated by Others (OBO) Operator-prepared submittals.Also this person will participate in estimate / Schedule assessments (verification of project cost & schedule bases).Lastly, they are expected to participate in Estimating Group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to Leve1 and 2 tasks, a Level 3 would:Responsible for maintaining change control, cost reports, etc.Work with project estimator, planner and scheduler and Client's accounting staffCoordinate and assemble the monthly progress reportsWork closely with client's project manager and team leads for regulated and non-regulated accounting reporting requirementsBuild analytics for root cause failure analysis.Schedule preventive maintenance to meet regulatory compliance and reliability expectations.Review and monitor workflows, forms, and potential efficiency gains in the software programs.Know scope of work for safety impacts along with production impactsWork with internal experts and third-party vendors to enhance current technology, bolt on other current software programs, and view new technology.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experiencePrevious experience in a closely related positionSkills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties aboveAdvanced level proficiency in Cost Estimating, Project Planning and Project ControlsStrong Influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skillsAdaptability to changing prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities5+ years prior industrial experience in Planning and/or Scheduling optimizationDevelop documentation associated with maintenance while communicating and tracking maintenance expenses.Experience using scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skillsAbility to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, accuracy, effectiveness, and self-confidence.Demonstrations of leadership and mentoring abilitiesKnowledge of Gas Plant operations a plusKnowledge of E-maintenance software a plus
