About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Intake Coordinator to join our team at NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, Direct, and Evaluate Potential Patients: Utilize your expertise to assess and evaluate potential patients through our assigned referral system, ensuring that we provide the highest level of care and service.
  • Establish Consistent Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with admitting hospitals, ensuring a best-in-class admission process for patients, families, and our team members.
  • Run Insurance and Pre-Certifications: Efficiently manage insurance and pre-certifications for incoming patients, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Enter Patient Records and Build Charts: Accurately enter patient records in our electronic health record system, WellSky, and build comprehensive patient charts.
  • Collaborate with Outreach Managers: Work closely with our Outreach Managers to assess patient needs and initiate appropriate care plans.
  • Build Relationships with Physicians and Hospitals: Foster positive relationships with physicians, physician office staff, and hospitals to promote our facilities and services.
  • Educate Referral Sources: Educate discharge planners, physicians, and other referral sources on our facilities and services, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Apply State Laws and Regulations: Understand and apply state involuntary commitment laws, state consent, and legal regulations for inpatient psych hospitals.
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License: Possess an active RN license in the state of employment.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program: Have graduated from an accredited school of nursing, with a BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Previous Experience in Intake or Assessment: Have previous experience in intake or assessment in an inpatient setting, with knowledge of psychiatric and medical terms, diagnoses, and conditions.
  • Medical Triage Experience: Possess one year of experience with medical triage in an inpatient setting.
  • Referral System Experience: Have familiarity with a referral system, with experience using NaviHealth and Transferral a plus.
  • High Aptitude for Multi-Tasking: Demonstrate the ability to multitask and use technology in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent customer service and communication skills to handle questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
