Position Overview

Full-time Community Support Services Supervisor


Exceptional Family Resources (EFR), a dedicated not-for-profit organization, is actively seeking a full-time Community Support Services Supervisor to assist individuals with developmental challenges and manage service delivery from our central office.

Role Summary: Direct the creation and execution of community support services for individuals with developmental challenges. Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide essential community-based assistance. Ensure a minimum of 18 hours per week of direct support in community settings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage community support services, collaborating closely with service recipients and their support teams to ensure services are tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop and uphold Staff Action Plans and safety measures, train personnel, and ensure effective implementation of these plans.
  • Instruct life skills, foster natural relationships, and explore new activities with individuals receiving support.
  • Encourage the development of independent living skills, including cooking, shopping, health maintenance, safety, and transportation.
  • Facilitate social connections and community engagement for individuals by participating in fitness classes, visiting local parks and events, joining community organizations, and more.
  • Provide behavioral, communication, and personal care support as required.
  • Adhere to scheduled service days and times.
  • Offer safe transportation using personal vehicles as needed.
  • Follow established guidelines for staff support and safety measures.
  • Maintain a minimum billing requirement of 18 hours per week.
  • Oversee and evaluate staff performance through on-site visits, feedback from service recipients and families, and daily documentation.
  • Facilitate introductions between potential staff and service recipients.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor 1:1 support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid billing standards in all services and documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience working with individuals with developmental challenges is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OPWDD regulations and oversight of disability services is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services-related field is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Current auto insurance, a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record are required.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and applications is preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher).
  • Must possess technology capable of downloading multiple applications for community use and comply with EFR's technology policy.

Compensation: Starting salary is $40,960, commensurate with experience and education.
