Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst for Subsidiary Oversight will play a pivotal role within a focused team dedicated to the formulation and implementation of initiatives, policies, and controls that ensure the financial integrity of Amazon's acquired subsidiaries. Collaborating closely with subsidiary operations, the Senior Financial Analyst will pinpoint financial and operational vulnerabilities and proactively address these through enhancements in services and technological solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate risks associated with subsidiary financial processes (such as order to cash, procure to pay, payroll, etc.), conduct quarterly control assessments, and provide a comprehensive risk evaluation that highlights concerns, trends, and actionable recommendations.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of subsidiary operations and strategic goals, driving innovative solutions to refine business processes and controls in a practical and cost-efficient manner.
  • Identify and resolve control deficiencies, disseminate best practices, and maintain oversight on the completion of essential control tasks.
  • Investigate root causes of defects and suggest corrective measures, ensuring follow-up on internal control findings.
  • Enhance subsidiary operational efficiency and financial governance through data-driven insights. Develop reporting mechanisms that focus on critical indicators of financial and operational performance; lead initiatives that foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across Finance functions (including Treasury, Accounting, and Tax) to uphold regulatory compliance and adherence to Amazon policies by acquired subsidiaries. Drive enhancements at both the program and individual subsidiary levels alongside operational teams and Finance leaders.
  • Educate subsidiary and Amazon stakeholders on key controls and policies.

About the Finance Operations Team

The Finance Operations division collaborates with all facets of Amazon, providing essential systems and operational frameworks that facilitate supplier payments, customer invoicing, and financial reporting. Through our services, we drive financial and process enhancements that yield tangible value for the business and enhance the experience of our global customers, vendors, and employees.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in process improvement through automation and analysis.
  • 6+ years of experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) in analyses.
  • 6+ years of experience identifying and implementing solutions to finance-related challenges, enhancing, scaling, or simplifying finance tools, technology, and processes across teams.
  • 6+ years of experience in constructing financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decisions.
  • 6+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in identifying and addressing incomplete or inaccurate data, developing and executing escalation plans.
  • 4+ years of experience solving complex business challenges through accurate and timely financial models, analyses, and recommendations with proven business impact.
  • 4+ years of experience in controllership or compliance.
  • Experience in communicating results to senior leadership.
  • MBA or CPA.
