The Crew Starship Avionics team is tasked with the development of cutting-edge avionics for the Human Landing System, aimed at transporting astronauts to the moon as part of NASA's Artemis initiative.

This project represents one of the most advanced and largest crewed spacecraft ever designed, developed with unprecedented efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the aerospace sector.

As a member of this dynamic and high-caliber engineering team, you will collaborate with exceptionally skilled professionals to achieve groundbreaking objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Rapidly design and develop high-reliability spacecraft electronics and systems for Crew Starship vehicles, specializing in power systems.
  • Serve as the lead engineer for flight hardware, overseeing the entire lifecycle from concept through to flight operations.
  • Conduct system and electrical architecture evaluations, product requirement definitions, component selections, design analyses, and prototyping.
  • Provide technical guidance across the organization, manage associated risks, introduce new technologies, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Establish validation strategies and create comprehensive testing campaigns to rigorously assess designs for reliable flight hardware.
  • Collaborate with NASA counterparts to deliver technical insights and documentation for Crew Starship milestones.
  • Act as the primary liaison with experts from various teams to ensure systems perform effectively, are manufacturable, and maintain reliability.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing power systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong passion for space exploration and proven experience in designing high-quality electronics for reliable applications.
  • Experience in developing new hardware solutions, rather than just incremental improvements.
  • Ability to navigate system trade-offs, challenge requirements, and ensure thorough verification and validation.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of various power conversion topologies and proficiency in power stage component selection and analysis.
  • Expertise in filter design for stability and noise mitigation.
  • Experience with control loop design, analysis, and testing.
  • Proficient in testing power converters and handling hazardous voltages.
  • Skilled in schematic capture and board layout, preferably using Altium or Circuit Maker.
  • High proficiency in circuit simulation tools and formal analysis methods.
  • Experienced with lab equipment for development testing, including sophisticated test definition and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable in EMI/EMC principles and best practices for design.
  • Ability to produce high-rate designs optimized for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Proficient in software development for test automation and data analysis, preferably in MATLAB or Python.
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills and collaboration experience across engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Extended hours and weekend work may be necessary to meet critical project milestones.
