About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Measurement System Specialist to join our team at Axon. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Calibration Program: Oversee and execute equipment and facility calibrations in accordance with QMS, ISO, and ISO standards.
  • Internal Auditor: Lead and support the planning and performance of ongoing internal and external audits for ISO.
  • Calibration Program Management: Maintain and execute the calibration program to ensure compliance to standards, including internal QMS procedures, ISO, and ISO.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Be the SME for Axon's Calibration Program and provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain calibration schedules, logs, records, files, and other documentation for both internal and external calibrations.
  • Lab Management: Maintain and manage Axon's Internal Calibration Lab, including performing equipment calibration when necessary and maintaining tools and equipment to ensure proper quality levels.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with department managers, maintenance personnel, production leads, and external vendors for calibrations, repairs, and other services.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the Continuous Improvement Activities to help reduce waste in the manufacturing system by supporting Six Sigma Problem Solving Techniques.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Support in the Root Cause Analysis of issues that impact the external customer through Six Sigma Problem Solving techniques.
  • Data Analysis: Gather data through various measuring equipment and sample analysis, CEW test fires, manufacturing floor observations, and designed experiments.
  • Process Development: Develop a process and manage Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility studies for Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
  • Training and Development: Provide training of QMS, Calibration Process to new hires, as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Typically requires an minimum of 3 - 4 years of related experience plus an minimum 2 year Associates degree and ISO or IATF Internal Auditor Training.
  • Skills and Abilities: Works independently on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Self-directed with a proactive mindset to not only identify problems but lead teams to solve them. Works on problems of limited scope. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Proficient ability to quickly learn the use of enterprise/business tools and PC applications. Prior experience as an internal quality auditor to ISO, and ISO Standards. Process thinker that can apply their knowledge to create and implement effective solutions. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritizes matters of competing importance, and effectively uses available resources to meet time constraints. Excellent organizational skills. Detailed oriented with strong initiative and follow-through. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in the realm of process documentation writing. The ability to influence others, present effective arguments, and prompt others to act in a positive productive manner. Lead by example.
