Job Summary

As a Building Operations Specialist at SMS Holdings, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities' mechanical, electrical, and control systems. This is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations and system breakdowns, taking immediate action to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure systems are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train utility mechanics and contractors to ensure work is performed safely and to a high standard.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations management teams, tenants, and business unit stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Prior experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is necessary.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Math Ability: Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions.
Work Environment

The work environment for this role will be fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. You will be working in a team environment, collaborating with other departments to achieve common goals.
