Position Overview
The Infrastructure Systems Specialist at Plexus Worldwide plays a crucial role in the architecture, development, and ongoing enhancement of both physical and cloud-based infrastructure systems and services. This position focuses on ensuring the security, reliability, and support of Windows Servers, Microsoft 365 services, MDM, IdP solutions, and backup systems. You will work closely with Engineering and Architectural teams to meet both immediate and strategic technology-driven business objectives while fostering strong relationships with vendors and business partners. This role also includes general system administration responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Strengthen Server Infrastructure Security and Reliability
  • Enhance the security posture of Plexus' server systems, both on-premises and in the cloud, including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Veeam Backup, and Okta.
  • Implement and oversee security initiatives such as MFA/SSO, RBAC, and intrusion detection, measuring success through a reduction in security incidents and increased system uptime.
Develop and Sustain IT Infrastructure Solutions
  • Ensure infrastructure services align with business needs, focusing on the continuous assessment and enhancement of Plexus' software and hardware solutions to improve capabilities and efficiencies while ensuring responsible resource utilization.
  • Document and standardize processes to promote repeatability and scalability for less experienced technicians.
Automate and Innovate IT Processes
  • Utilize advanced PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks, minimizing manual efforts and errors. Innovate solutions to common IT challenges, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Effectively implement and maintain Plexus' Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, ensuring endpoint security through established best practices and standards.
Essential Duties

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
  • Work with various departments to ensure the IT infrastructure effectively supports all business functions. Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to align IT initiatives with business objectives and ensure timely project completion.
Lead Project Management Initiatives
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and stability of Plexus' Identity Provider solution, including onboarding new applications and ensuring compliance with Plexus' standards.
Manage Major IT Incidents
  • Be prepared to address significant IT incidents swiftly. Identify root causes, implement immediate solutions, and develop long-term strategies to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Educational Background: BS in Computing or equivalent experience preferred.
Technical Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience:
  • Microsoft Server Support and Implementation: Achieved and maintained high server performance and reliability through effective support and implementation of Microsoft Servers.
  • Microsoft Active Directory Management: Successfully managed and optimized Microsoft Active Directory for secure and efficient user authentication and authorization.
  • Microsoft 365 Tenant Management: Streamlined administrative tasks through proficient management of Microsoft 365 tenant with automation and technician training.
  • Microsoft Hypervisor Management: Implemented and managed Hypervisor environments to meet Plexus' virtualization requirements.
  • Experience with SSO and MFA Technologies: Enhanced security and user convenience through the design and implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) technologies.
2-3 Years of Experience:
  • AWS Instance Management: Provisioned and managed AWS instances to support Plexus' cloud infrastructure needs.
  • Microsoft SharePoint Administration: Improved collaboration and document management through effective administration of Microsoft SharePoint.
