WORK LOCATION:

COMPENSATION RANGE:
$
90/hr - $112/hr W2 (no health benefits during contract period)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is required. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is necessary, or a Master's degree with 8 years of related experience. Agile methodology experience is preferred.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is mandatory within a reasonable timeframe after hiring. Selected candidates may undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Geologics is seeking a Lead Systems Engineering Specialist for our Scottsdale, AZ facility.

In this role, you will engage in requirements analysis and management, functional analysis, performance assessment, system architecture, trade studies, systems integration, and testing (verification) in the development and evaluation of networks and information systems.


PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Conduct requirements analysis, definition, and management.
- Perform functional and performance analysis, system design, and detailed trade studies.
- Execute systems integration and testing (verification), validation, and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under the guidance of the lead systems engineer.
- Undertake technical planning, cost and risk assessments, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system components.
- Analyze customer requirements, develop system specifications, and allocate requirements to lower levels (elements and components).
- Conduct in-depth technical analyses for subsystems or system elements.
- Develop and assess systems, networks, and information systems to ensure compliance with applicable governmental security standards.
- Provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and testing support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) are properly implemented and functional.
- Create system security documentation for both new and existing information systems.
- Participate in Modeling and Simulation activities.
- Research and analyze data, including vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to evaluate design feasibility.
- Support the generation of technical engineering documentation by utilizing appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle.
- May offer leadership and/or guidance to junior staff.
- Independently determine proposed approaches to solutions.
- Contribute to the successful completion of major programs and projects.
- Plan and execute project tasks for the activities outlined above.
- Engage in creative and innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills.
- Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Design comprehensive and complex frameworks, systems, or products.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve weaknesses in system design.
- Maintain regular contact with senior levels of internal working groups.
- Collaborate with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the organization.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Expertise in requirements analysis and management.
- Proficiency in functional and performance analysis.
- Strong background in system design and trade studies.
- Experience in systems integration and testing (verification) in the development and evaluation of networks and information systems.
- Ability to coordinate external interfaces and ICDs.
- Knowledge of multi-level security domain expertise (and cross-domain).
- Skill in quickly decomposing requirements to avoid bloat and effectively communicate/track impacts.
- Familiarity with related personnel from various organizations.
- Experience in system-level networking and coordination with GFE WAN providers for detailed network design.
- Capability to discern in-scope and out-of-scope elements and manage complexity.
- Agile program experience is beneficial.
- A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is required, along with 10+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
