Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Department Chair for Psychiatry to lead our esteemed Department of Psychiatry. This critical role involves overseeing the strategic recruitment, retention, and professional development of our medical staff, which is vital for achieving our organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the Department of Psychiatry.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care while managing departmental finances in collaboration with provider finance services.
- Mentor and develop both physicians and advanced practice providers within the department.
- Optimize resource allocation to enhance patient access to care.
- Foster a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to care delivery.
Qualifications
- Doctorate Degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) is required.
- Current or eligible for a medical license in Minnesota.
- Board certification in an ABMS recognized specialty.
- A minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership experience at the institutional, departmental, or section level.
- Eligibility for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota.
