Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Department Chair for Psychiatry who will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the department. This role is critical in overseeing the recruitment, retention, and professional development of medical staff, ensuring alignment with our organizational mission.

The Department Chair will:

  • Lead academic initiatives and uphold the quality of care provided.
  • Collaborate with financial services to manage departmental budgets effectively.
  • Mentor and develop both physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Optimize resource allocation to enhance patient access and care delivery.
  • Foster a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate Degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) is required.
  • Current or eligible license to practice medicine in Minnesota.
  • Board certification in an ABMS recognized specialty.
  • A minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership experience.
  • Eligibility for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota.
