Job SummaryThis role is based in Suwanee, Georgia, and reports to the Global Director of Finance. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting processes, including Accounts Receivable, Capex, percentage of completion, and job costing.
You will lead a team of 4 associates and develop and manage accounting processes, refining internal controls and improving processes continuously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage Accounting team, Capex, cash reconciliation, and other accounting processes, continuously improving processes and refining internal controls.
- Own month-end closing of general ledger and sub-modules, preparing, posting, and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, reports, and schedules according to US GAAP.
- Manage percentage of completion and project-based job costing.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information and details to support expenses, tax liability, and/or other financial activities.
- Own account reconciliations and monthly balance sheet accounts, including assets and liabilities, account roll forwards, and other reports required for corporate accounting.
- Ensure adequacy of Company's internal controls, compliance with Company plans, policies, and procedures.
- Implement month-end closing improvements to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures and to ensure the most effective and efficient operations.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinates responses to internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in the accounting organization by assessing, mentoring, and developing accounting team.
- Other ad hoc projects as needed.
This role manages professional employees and/or supervisors, providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers. The position has wide latitude for decision making and takes new initiatives aimed at improving team performance.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, or related field with exposure to end-to-end accounting environment. Previous experience in a supervisory role required and a manufacturing background a plus. Exposure to international intercompany transactions a plus. Exposure to Canadian Taxes such as GST, PST, etc. a plus. Oracle experience a plus. Percentage of Completion and Project-based job costing experience a plus. Critical thinker, strong communication skills, self-starter, and team player.
