Job SummaryThis role is based in Suwanee, Georgia, and reports to the Global Director of Finance. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting processes, including Accounts Receivable, Capex, percentage of completion, and job costing. You will also develop and manage a team of 4 associates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage Accounting team, Capex, cash reconciliation, and other accounting processes while continuously improving our processes and refining our internal controls.
- Own month-end closing of general ledger and sub-modules, including preparing, posting, and reviewing of journal entries; prepare and/or review account reconciliations, reports, and schedules, and/or bank reconciliations according to US GAAP.
- Manage percentage of completion and project-based job costing.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information and details to support expenses, tax liability, and/or other financial activities.
- Own account reconciliations and monthly balance sheet accounts, including assets and liabilities, account roll forwards, and other reports required for corporate accounting.
- Ensure adequacy of Company's internal controls and compliance with Company plans, policies, and procedures.
- Implement month-end closing improvements to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures and to ensure the most effective and efficient operations.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinates responses to internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in the accounting organization by assessing, mentoring, and developing accounting team.
This role manages professional employees and/or supervisors, providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers. The individual has wide latitude for decision making and takes new initiatives aimed at improving team performance.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or related field with exposure to end-to-end accounting environment. Previous experience in a supervisory role required, and a manufacturing background a plus. Exposure to international intercompany transactions a plus. Exposure to Canadian Taxes such as GST, PST, etc. a plus. Oracle experience a plus. Percentage of Completion and Project-based job costing experience a plus.
