Position Summary

Brightspeed is seeking a skilled Regional Operations Supervisor to lead our team. In this role, you will oversee technicians in designated service regions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality communication services for both residential and business clients. Your leadership will foster a knowledgeable, customer-centric team that effectively promotes and sells Brightspeed’s offerings while delivering service experiences that surpass customer expectations. This position requires participation in a rotation schedule and may involve on-call duties, mandatory overtime, and holiday work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing daily operations of network services and managing technicians responsible for the installation and maintenance of residential and business services.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between Brightspeed and contractors to address issues during construction and maintenance.
  • Focusing on the training, coaching, and development of team members regarding new processes, quality standards, customer interaction, safety, expense management, and technical competencies.
  • Leading a team of technicians to meet attendance and performance benchmarks.
  • Representing Brightspeed in interactions with customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborating with union representatives to foster a mutually beneficial working relationship.
  • Recognizing and celebrating team achievements through appropriate rewards and recognition.
  • Encouraging continuous improvement and striving for peak performance within the team.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience managing teams in a telecommunications technical environment.
  • Proven skills in employee development, including training and mentoring in a unionized setting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and legacy systems.
  • Understanding of the installation and maintenance processes for residential and business services, as well as local network operations.
  • Familiarity with splicing and construction processes in the telecommunications sector.
  • Knowledge of contractor relations.
  • Ability to engage collaboratively with others, establishing rapport and providing customer-focused solutions.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform under pressure.
  • Experience in negotiating timelines and meeting critical deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach to completing job assignments with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a telecommunications technical environment.
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of POTS and HSI for a minimum of 2 years.
