Job Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE

Oversees the operations team responsible for a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks related to event setup, including arranging tables, chairs, and stages. Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the Civic & Conference Center, Exhibition Hall, and Rodeo Arena complex, while also managing several memorial sites.

SUPERVISION

Manages full-time, part-time, and temporary staff.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CORE COMPETENCIES:

1. Develops and implements a maintenance schedule for the Civic & Conference Center and associated facilities.
2. Assigns daily tasks and work schedules to team members.
3. Trains staff on the safe and effective use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
4. Ensures compliance with safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
5. Maintains accurate records, including Material Safety Data Sheets and equipment checklists.
6. Guarantees timely cleaning of all designated areas.
7. Assists in budget preparation for cleaning and maintenance operations.
8. Performs various cleaning tasks, including floor maintenance and restroom sanitation.
9. Operates forklifts and other equipment as needed.
10. Collaborates with other departments for logistical support during community events.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two years of experience in a warehouse or construction setting.
3. Supervisory experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Familiarity with event layouts and maintenance procedures.
2. Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment.
3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
5. Capacity to establish effective working relationships with team members and external partners.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid driver's license required upon hire.
2. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

The work environment may involve exposure to moving parts, high places, and various weather conditions. Safety precautions are essential to mitigate risks associated with the role.
