Job Overview

Tesoro Group is on the lookout for a skilled Compliance Specialist to enhance their team. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in affordable housing compliance, specifically in managing full-cycle leasing processes including new leases and recertifications within income-restricted housing.

This position will involve working with a substantial property portfolio that includes numerous income-restricted units.

Compensation: The hourly wage ranges from $23 to $26, depending on qualifications. This role is structured as a contract position with the potential for long-term employment for the right individual.

Work Schedule: The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Specialist's primary duty is to ensure adherence to compliance requirements across various sites, thereby supporting the overall integrity of the housing programs.

Essential Duties:
  • Compliance Management: Conduct thorough interviews with residents and complete all necessary documentation to ensure timely resident certifications in line with regulatory standards.
  • Data Management: Accurately input applicant and resident data into the Yardi Voyager system.
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with residents and site staff.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to any arising issues.
Property Management Support:
  • Adhere to all corporate deadlines.
  • Assist the Property Management Compliance Services (PMCS) team during staff shortages, training, and peak periods.
  • Implement procedures as outlined in the Program Compliance Manual.
  • Participate in site compliance training initiatives.
  • Attend relevant Property Management and PMCS team meetings as required.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in affordable housing compliance, with a solid understanding of government subsidy programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi software is mandatory.
  • Must successfully pass a background check prior to employment.
