The Position

The Procurement Specialist at GreenThumb is tasked with overseeing purchasing activities, vendor relations, and contract negotiations while managing daily procurement operations. You will formulate operational strategies to ensure that GreenThumb is equipped with the necessary resources to meet current business demands and anticipated growth in evolving markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and collaborate effectively with Procurement, Innovation, Brand, Project Teams, Supply Chain, Operations Sites, and other cross-functional teams at headquarters.
  • Manage multiple priorities while enhancing the efficiency of the Procurement team, ensuring effective handling of competing tasks.
  • Generate Purchase Orders within the ERP system, monitor shipments, coordinate deliveries, and confirm payments, while managing vendor relationships.
  • Establish strong business relationships with key stakeholders, gathering feedback on sourcing and vendor performance, discussing supply base opportunities, and identifying new or changing requirements.
  • Facilitate the development of cross-functional teams by identifying internal customers and stakeholders for inclusion; interact with internal clients to understand their needs and resolve issues; involve key stakeholders in sourcing development and execution; keep the Senior Director of Procurement informed of any conflicts between stakeholder needs and sourcing strategies.
  • Set standards for conducting thorough internal and external research on supply markets and competitive activities within assigned spend categories to generate high-quality insights; identify supply market trends and economics; maintain updated information on suppliers and drive supply base optimization.
  • Oversee ongoing vendor relationships and supplier performance across the portfolio; ensure regular supplier meetings are conducted and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Execute purchasing activities for designated categories.
  • Track the status of open purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery of all materials, including prompt resolution and communication of potential issues.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to achieve optimal inventory levels for assigned categories based on forecasts, demand fluctuations, and material lead times.
  • Coordinate material flows during product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers or materials due to new product development.
  • Act as a shared resource within the procurement team when additional support is required.
  • Continue collaborating with leadership to maintain and manage a diverse vendor management database.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement operations within manufacturing or consumer packaged goods.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working independently or as part of a team, demonstrating sound judgment and resourcefulness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the capacity to build relationships at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Possesses strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism and integrity, particularly when handling confidential information.
Additional Requirements
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks.
  • Must remain compliant with all legal and company regulations relevant to the industry.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be approved by the relevant state agency to work in the cannabis industry.
