The Position

The Procurement Specialist at GreenThumb is tasked with overseeing purchasing operations, vendor relations, and contract negotiations. This role is crucial in developing strategic plans to ensure that GreenThumb is equipped with the necessary resources to meet both current and future market demands.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and collaborate effectively with various teams including Procurement, Innovation, Brand, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Manage multiple priorities while enhancing the efficiency of the Procurement team.
  • Oversee the creation of Purchase Orders in the ERP system, track shipments, coordinate deliveries, and confirm payments while managing vendor relationships.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with stakeholders, gathering feedback on sourcing and vendor performance, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Facilitate the development of cross-functional teams by identifying key internal customers and stakeholders, addressing their requirements, and resolving any issues.
  • Establish standards for conducting thorough research on supply markets and competitive activities within assigned categories, ensuring insightful analysis.
  • Manage ongoing vendor relationships and supplier performance, ensuring regular meetings and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Execute purchasing strategies for designated categories.
  • Monitor open purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery of materials, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain optimal inventory levels based on forecasts and demand variations.
  • Coordinate material flows during product changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers or materials.
  • Act as a resource within the procurement team as needed.
  • Work with leadership to maintain and manage a diverse vendor management database.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement operations within manufacturing or consumer packaged goods.
  • Self-motivated and innovative, capable of working independently or collaboratively with strong judgment and resourcefulness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity, particularly when handling confidential information.
Additional Requirements
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks.
  • Compliance with all legal and company regulations relevant to the industry is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Approval from the state badging agency is necessary to work in the cannabis industry.
