Position: Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain & Inventory

Location: Chicago

The Senior Financial Analyst for Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in facilitating financial assessments and forecasting within the supply chain division. This prominent position entails collaborating closely with the supply chain team while spearheading enhancements in processes and analytical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the key business drivers associated with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics.
  • Deliver actionable business insights and data-driven analytics to meet established goals.
  • Support inventory management activities, including lifecycle management decisions, internal audits of monthly inventory counts, and assessments of slow-moving and obsolete items.
  • Provide analytical support for the contract manufacturing team, ensuring robust inventory management and identifying cost-saving opportunities with third-party manufacturers.
  • Assist in formulating the fixed capital forecast and contribute to the annual business and strategic planning process.
  • Support critical month-end and year-end closing procedures, including production order settlements, physical inventory counts, and external audits.
  • Offer specific, actionable insights regarding changes in monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Challenge and evaluate various business decisions, presenting alternative recommendations.
  • Deliver technical expertise and promote best practices in processes and controls to the Supply Chain team.
  • Engage in and occasionally lead finance-wide initiatives that enhance operational control, adapting to business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to achieving results through effective collaboration.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and financial modeling expertise.
  • Proven history of driving change and improving processes.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with urgency.
  • Intellectually curious and recognized as a thought leader.
  • Capable of navigating ambiguity and adapting to a dynamic business landscape.
  • Possess resilience and a strong character, thriving in an environment that challenges conventional practices.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, preferably with supply chain or plant controllership experience from a leading consumer packaged goods organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with SAP and Tableau is highly desirable.
