The Supply Chain Procurement Leader is responsible for steering the Purchasing Department by effectively communicating, managing, and assessing a team of procurement specialists to secure essential supplies, equipment, and services in alignment with the objectives of Rush University Medical Center.

Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:00:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the procurement process for operational supplies and equipment across the institution and associated clinics.
- Ensure that purchasing protocols are effectively communicated and adhered to by both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Lead and supervise the purchasing team, including hiring, training, and evaluating departmental personnel.
- Manage the workflow of the procurement team and collaborate with internal departments to resolve any issues promptly.
- Utilize the GHX software proficiently to support procurement functions and achieve departmental goals efficiently.
- Act as an expert user and administrator of the Rush ERP system, facilitating its effective use in daily operations.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate monthly financial processes within the ERP system.
- Guide staff in compliance with internal policies and procedures regarding procurement processes.
- Support the supply chain team in bid preparation, data collection, and report generation from the ERP system.
- Maintain adherence to legal and ethical standards, seeking guidance from legal and risk management when necessary.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, integrity, and effective communication within the department.
Qualifications:
Required:
- B.A. /B.S. in business, marketing, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience analyzing complex offers and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on contract negotiation for goods and services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement processes in medical and service sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve cost-saving objectives.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and utilizing Access databases.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage personnel at all levels.
- Understanding of complex healthcare market dynamics and their implications for procurement.
