Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at TEKsystems. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of medical records requests from patients, their authorized representatives, providers, and other third parties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Access and prepare medical records as needed for patients, patients' authorized representatives, internal staff, and external third parties
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical records and release of health information regulations (e.g., HIPAA) to ensure accurate processing
  • Perform administrative duties including but not limited to: answering phone calls, faxing and emailing confidential information, and basic computer utilization
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external parties

Key Qualifications:

  • 6+ months prior experience executing medical records requests AND 6 months of contact center or customer service experience within the last 4 years
  • Deep understanding of HIPAA guidelines and associated privacy policies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high comfort level typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through on meeting goals and deadlines despite obstacles
