Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable individual who will serve as the financial expert for clinical research sites. This role involves collaborating with both prospective and current clinical research sites to develop and enhance their financial processes and overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new study profiles within the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) in alignment with clinical trial agreements.
- Comprehend the relationship between study protocols and Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs).
- Manage invoicing and collections for clinical research sites.
- Track contract progress and ensure timely invoicing to sponsors.
- Gather precision enrollment data from the Professional Services Team.
- Create and maintain monthly Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) visit reports for all research sites.
- Support the finance team with accounts receivable and accounts payable related to the RealTime platform and clinical research studies.
Site-Facing Responsibilities:
- Maintain consistent communication with research sites via email, phone, and virtual meetings.
- Provide training to sites on clinical research finance and related activities.
- Act as a liaison between the finance and research departments at the site.
- Share best practices regarding research finance.
- Assist in establishing profit and loss statements and balance sheets in accordance with GAAP principles.
- Guide the utilization of patient stipend cards and reconcile these accounts.
- Collaborate with the internal finance team to accurately post sponsor study payments in the research site CTMS.
- Assist research sites in creating and sending research study invoices to sponsors.
- Update financial institution information as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive financial closeout reviews for each research site.
Sponsor-Facing Responsibilities:
- Negotiate study budgets between research sites and sponsors/CROs.
- Coordinate with study sponsor financial contacts to ensure accurate invoicing and timely sponsor payments.
- Master the use of sponsor payment portals.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical research finance, specifically within a research site.
- At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS); experience with RealTime and/or CRIO is essential.
- Proficient understanding of invoicing, accounts payable/receivable tracking, and clinical research budgeting.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard hours to accommodate various time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
