The Inside Sales Professional position is an integral part of the Owens Corning Sales Development Program (SDP), aimed at attracting exceptional early-career sales talent through a structured 18-24 month training initiative within the Roofing sector. Participants in this program will join the Inside Sales team, providing direct support to a designated region while collaborating closely with Area Sales Managers. As key contributors to the team sales strategy, participants will significantly impact regional success by leading training sessions, engaging with customers, and undertaking special projects. Throughout the program, participants will receive guidance and mentorship from sales leadership, culminating in a final 12-month placement within the supported territory or with direct territory responsibilities.

Upon mastering the essential skills for effective territory management, we will collaboratively identify a suitable Area Sales Manager role. This program is designed to enhance sales competencies through challenging experiences, supported by a defined training curriculum that fosters knowledge in Customer Operations, Consultative Sales Strategy, Territory Management, Pricing Strategy, and Product Expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture relationships with assigned or shared accounts, fostering trust through exceptional service.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Provide education to customers regarding products and services.
  • Engage in B2B and professional cold calling to contractors, distributors, and sheet metal shops.
  • Maintain an updated customer contact list and gather market intelligence.
  • Participate in customer and industry events.
  • Performance metrics include sales revenue targets, customer segmentation data, and customer feedback.
  • Identify and convert contractors, distributors, and downstream customers.
  • Assist in developing marketing initiatives for field and customer promotions.
  • Performance metrics will be based on supported business, including product and location conversion, revenue targets, contractor pipeline management, and CRM interactions.
Market and Customer Analysis
  • Provide pricing and job quotes (including Price Deviation creation and follow-through).
  • Analyze market pricing and competitive landscapes.
  • Utilize sales reporting tools to uncover customer opportunities and monitor performance.
  • Identify leads and track projects using sales tools.
  • Engage in business initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collect and share competitive market intelligence.
Product Knowledge
  • Proactively learn about Owens Corning's product offerings.
  • Identify and communicate competitive challenges.
  • Effectively convey and sell value through differentiation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the building materials industry applicable across business units.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Analytical mindset with a decision-making process that incorporates data, personal experience, and team input.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Willingness to relocate at the conclusion of the program.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in the building materials sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in a business-to-business environment is advantageous but not essential.
