OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

The Warranty Solutions Team spearheads the initiative to assess manufacturing quality issues and address claims presented by clients, contractors, and consumers.

The Warranty Claims Customer Service Specialist is an integral part of the Warranty Solutions Team within the Roofing and Asphalt Division. This position is responsible for resolving roofing quality claims submitted by both homeowners and contractors. The Warranty Guidelines must be adhered to in the handling of all claims, which includes reviewing collected data from the client, analyzing the Lab Specialist's conclusions, and determining the suitable reimbursement if warranted. The Warranty Claims Customer Service Specialist negotiates with clients and contractors to settle any disagreements and secure acceptance of the warranty resolution. This role also collaborates with the Claims Settlement Specialist to facilitate the reimbursement process and finalize the claim.

Reports to: Team Leader, Warranty Solutions Team

Span of Control: Individual role with designated responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Customer Claims

  • Address warranty claim inquiries via phone queue
  • Comprehend Warranty Guidelines and Conditions, Owens Corning Products, and correct product installation
  • Evaluate collected documentation and information from homeowners, suppliers, installers, Owens Corning Field Sales, and manufacturing personnel to validate claims.
  • Analyze Lab findings and Lab Specialist decisions to ensure appropriate reimbursement per the Warranty Guidelines.
  • Negotiate claim resolutions and ensure adherence to proper LOA protocols
  • Communicate settlements with clients through written and verbal means while upholding exceptional customer service standards.
  • Balance costs with customer satisfaction in the claims resolution process
  • Make decisions aligned with Owens Corning quality standards
  • Foster relationships with plant personnel and sales regions
  • Coordinate quality assurance discussions with plants and sales regions to highlight quality trends
  • Responsible for identifying potentially litigious situations
  • Skilled at diffusing challenging situations and maintaining customer loyalty

  • Identify and act to eliminate non-value-added tasks within daily operations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of customer service experience in a business setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Knowledge and application of roofing products
  • Previous warranty claim experience
