Job Summary

CLARK Material Handling Company is seeking a skilled Assembly Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Assembly Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of assembling operations to complete the manufacturing of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and retrieve parts necessary for assembly
  • Assemble, sub-assemble, and modify parts to build material handling equipment
  • Receive and understand detailed instructions concerning the assembling of parts
  • Inspect forklifts, carts, burden carriers, or various material handling equipment to ensure appropriate installation and operation of assigned stations
  • Correct or repair any issues with the equipment
  • Assemble parts onto the frame of the material handling equipment, including batteries, windshields, steer cylinder, oil filter, motor, steer axles, brakes, seats, counterweights, brackets, Cal plates, side panels, uprights, wheels, overhead guards, and LBRs
  • Wire control panels, set diagnostic gauges, and fill sump tanks
  • Build position and install subassemblies onto frame, including brakes, drive unit, steering, pump motors, power steering, handles, plates, harnesses, battery cables, and receptacle ends
  • Use hand tools to perform wiring and assembly tasks
  • Operate power and air tools, torque wrench, air gun, clamp, hoists, and other equipment as needed
  • Fulfill truck with required fluids
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of assembly components
  • Ability to maneuver a lifting device for components over 50 pounds up to 100 times per day
  • Ability to torque up to 500 lbs of pressure using manual and/or electric torque wrench
  • Upper and extremity strength
  • Ability to reach around into and under areas of truck to adjust, assemble bolts, and components
  • Ability to assemble components requiring repetitive twisting motion of wrist and lower arm
Working Conditions

The position is exposed to the typical factory environment, which includes:

  • Loud noise
  • Varying temperatures
  • Oil, grease, paint, solvents, and other potentially hazardous materials
  • Dust, fumes, flying debris, and fast-moving machinery
