Role Overview

This position is pivotal within the Strategic Finance team, offering high visibility and impact. We are assembling a group of dynamic problem solvers from diverse backgrounds to facilitate the efficient scaling of our operations. You will manage a variety of projects for a leader in AI and robotics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with leadership across Engineering and General & Administrative functions to create financial budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators. Utilize business acumen and financial insights to support decision-making that aligns resource allocation with corporate goals. Monitor and analyze monthly performance against expectations, identifying risks and opportunities, and provide comprehensive financial updates to executive leadership.
  • Financial Modeling: Enhance existing financial models and consolidate various models into a comprehensive three-statement model (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement). Leverage these models to derive critical insights and guide investment decisions.
  • Financial Analysis: Lead initiatives across diverse areas, including ROI-driven resource allocation, operational efficiency, and process enhancement. Prepare business cases for capital efficiency projects, contributing to a lean Strategic Finance team where versatility is essential.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in transitioning from a Series D startup to a more established organization by gathering requirements and implementing tools and processes that foster a culture of accountability.
  • Corporate Development: Engage in projects related to fundraising, corporate partnerships, and development as necessary, collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record with 7+ years in Corporate Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance, with investment banking experience considered advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex topics and delivering actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities, adept at conveying complex analyses clearly to stakeholders.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, demonstrating a desire for continuous learning and professional development.
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership and driving solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid work ethic, balancing efficiency with diligence.
  • A collaborative team player, focused on the collective success of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a rapidly growing technology environment.
  • Background in fundraising within a tech company.
  • Proficiency in streamlining data workflows using SQL, Python, JavaScript, or VBA.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems related to financial management.
