Position: Senior Financial Consultant

As a result of expansion, the Senior Financial Consultant is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive deliverables for client financials on a quarterly basis, managing monthly cash flow, and facilitating daily disbursements. This role includes mentoring and reviewing the work of junior accountants when necessary, as well as maintaining direct communication with clients for processing invoices and establishing new service accounts.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary liaison and relationship manager for clients, their families, and external service providers.
  • Provide timely and precise monthly and quarterly financial statements to clients and/or client service teams.
  • Develop Excel spreadsheets that analyze client financial data, including broker assessments and investment history.
  • Create client cash reports utilizing accounting software for monthly deliverables and internal reviews of client disbursements.
  • Notify management of potential opportunities for cross-selling and safeguarding client assets.
  • Download financial data from brokerage, banking, and credit card accounts into the General Ledger System for accurate record-keeping.
  • Review client disbursements for accuracy in payments and coding.
  • Conduct monthly account and bank reconciliations to verify record accuracy, overseeing the work of junior accountants when available.
  • Perform duties of junior accountants in their absence.
  • Manage special projects as required.
  • Collaborate with the tax department and provide necessary information.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure accurate bookkeeping for clients' personal and business transactions, processing invoices efficiently using the provided accounting software.
  • Act as the primary manager of client cash accounts, ensuring adequate funds are available for anticipated and extraordinary expenses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client records and files while interacting with client staff and third-party advisors, managing sensitive access codes for financial accounts discreetly.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, serving as a knowledgeable resource for fundamental accounting practices, software usage, and effective communication.
  • Process personal bills for high-net-worth clients accurately and promptly, reviewing recurring expenses and managing both routine and special payments.
  • Ensure timely processing of deposits.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience, ideally with individual clients, small businesses, or consolidated financial reporting.

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills; detail-oriented and a team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
