Position Summary

The Finance Operations Manager is essential to the financial management of the hotel. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role encompasses various elements of financial oversight, ensuring precision, compliance, and operational efficiency. In addition to the duties specified in the current job outline, the Finance Operations Manager will also:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate comprehensive financial reports and analyses for senior leadership, pinpointing trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement.
    • Conduct regular assessments of financial performance against established budgets and forecasts, offering insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
  2. Budgeting and Financial Forecasting:
    • Assist in crafting annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating closely with department leaders to ensure alignment with operational objectives.
    • Oversee budget performance throughout the fiscal year, suggesting modifications as necessary to achieve financial goals.
  3. Compliance and Internal Controls:
    • Establish and uphold robust internal controls to protect assets, deter fraud, and guarantee adherence to regulatory standards.
    • Perform regular audits of financial processes and transactions, promptly addressing any discrepancies or concerns.
  4. Strategic Financial Planning:
    • Engage in strategic planning efforts by providing financial insights and expertise to support long-term growth strategies.
    • Assess investment opportunities and capital projects, conducting financial evaluations and return on investment analyses.
  5. Vendor Relations:
    • Oversee vendor partnerships and contracts, negotiating advantageous terms to maximize cost efficiency and service quality.
    • Review vendor invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
  6. Staff Development:
    • Offer mentorship and training to finance personnel, promoting professional growth and adherence to industry best practices.
    • Remain informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and technological advancements pertinent to financial management in the hospitality sector.
Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Strong numerical skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the capability to analyze complex financial data accurately.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines with precision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied work schedules, including weekends and evenings, to meet business demands.
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) utilized in the workplace, with strong reading and writing skills to facilitate communication.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, ideally within the hospitality industry, showcasing leadership and managerial skills.
