Position Overview:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing challenges with substance use disorders, particularly focusing on Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. Our organization also offers Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) for those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized therapy sessions, both individually and in groups, alongside case management and crisis intervention tailored to the treatment plan objectives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered through weekly notes, individual notes, and information notes, adhering to the policies and procedures of NBH and relevant governing standards.
  • Record case activity notes and significant client information diligently.
  • Create detailed treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client, ensuring compliance with NBH policies and established standards.
  • Conduct and document assessments in line with NBH guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in weekly case staffing and supervision meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies.
  • Provide updates and progress reports to courts, the Department of Corrections, and other referral entities as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with external agencies to enhance client care.
  • Fulfill discharge responsibilities in accordance with contractual obligations, licensure standards, and NBH policies.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of core competencies related to co-occurring disorders through ongoing education and practical application in treatment.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisory staff.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid LADC license in Minnesota.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in addiction counseling.
  • Thorough knowledge of Minnesota Statutes relevant to the services provided by NBHN.
  • CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of a State of Minnesota Background Check.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Experience with medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder is preferred.
  • Specialized training in modalities such as DBT-SUD, CBT, MI, etc., is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Procentive and Electronic Health Record Systems is preferred.
