Position Overview:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing challenges related to substance use disorders, particularly Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. Our organization also focuses on delivering Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, case management, and crisis intervention in alignment with the treatment objectives outlined in the client’s treatment plan.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered through weekly notes, individual notes, and information notes, adhering to the policies and procedures of NBH and relevant governing standards.
  • Record case activity notes and significant information pertaining to client progress.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client, ensuring compliance with NBH policies and regulatory standards.
  • Administer and document assessments in accordance with established NBH protocols and governing body standards.
  • Engage in weekly case staffing and supervision meetings to ensure collaborative care.
  • Provide progress reports to courts, the Department of Corrections, and other referral sources as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with external agencies to enhance client support.
  • Fulfill discharge responsibilities in accordance with contractual obligations, licensure requirements, and NBH policies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in core competencies related to co-occurring disorders through ongoing education and the application of skills in all treatment aspects.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid LADC license in the state of Minnesota.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in addiction counseling.
  • Thorough understanding of Minnesota Statutes relevant to the services provided by NBHN.
  • CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of a State of Minnesota Background Check.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder is preferred.
  • Specialized training in methodologies such as DBT-SUD, CBT, MI, etc., is preferred.
  • Experience with Procentive and Electronic Health Record Systems is preferred.
