Position Overview: The Regional Education Program Coordinator plays a vital role in shaping educational initiatives within correctional facilities. This position is essential for fostering a supportive and secure environment, aimed at preparing individuals for successful reintegration into society. Our dedicated and diverse team is committed to upholding safety and security while promoting the principles of humanity and normalcy.

Key Responsibilities: The incumbent will oversee the organization, development, maintenance, and assessment of all educational programs within the designated region. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating GED literacy, high school equivalency, post-secondary education, adult continuing education, English as a Second Language (ESL), and vocational training.
  • Managing library services, recreational activities, inmate wellness programs, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Providing expert guidance to department heads to enhance educational outcomes and establish exemplary educational facilities.
  • Participating in significant policy-making decisions regarding educational and recreational programs while staying informed on regional goals and objectives.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $120,207 - $142,065 per year.

Qualifications: To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, including supervised student teaching and coursework in psychology, human development, education history, and teaching methods.
  • Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that includes at least one year of professional teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level.
  • Teacher certification or licensure in a relevant jurisdiction is also acceptable.

Experience Requirements: Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the ability to manage educational and recreational programs effectively. Relevant experience may include:

  • Administration and leadership in educational settings, including literacy and vocational training programs.
  • Budget management, curriculum development, and educational technology integration.
  • Researching and evaluating educational methodologies and materials.
  • Providing technical assistance to educational organizations at various levels.

Additional Information: This position is not part of a bargaining unit and may require geographic relocation based on agency needs. Applicants must undergo a background investigation and meet specific employment conditions.
