Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, and retain highly qualified educational personnel.
  • Drive initiatives to meet defined enrollment and attendance benchmarks.
  • Support the Principal in creating and sustaining a learning environment that encourages student success and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Manage all components of the core academic curriculum.
  • Establish clear expectations for staff performance and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive professional development program for staff.
  • Analyze educational data to inform strategies for continuous improvement and to meet contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance.
  • Guide staff in achieving accountability measures and compliance with educational standards.
  • Promote a school climate that supports student learning and implements research-driven instructional practices.
  • Assume full responsibility for school operations in the Principal's absence.
  • Foster effective communication and relationships with all stakeholders, aligning with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to ensure the achievement of educational and behavioral goals.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of educational administration and school management.
  • Familiarity with secondary education principles.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional theory.
  • Ability to analyze data to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain productive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technology-rich environments.
  • Competence in using productivity software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for state administrative or educational leadership certification.
  • Valid state teaching certificate required if pursuing administrative certification.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in instructional or supervisory roles.
  • At least three years of teaching experience.
  • Preferred five years of experience working with at-risk youth.
