Job Title: Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at Advocates for Children of New York. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our Postsecondary Readiness Project (PReP) and enhance organizational processes critical to the Executive Director and Operations Team.

Responsibilities:
  • Postsecondary Readiness Project (PReP): Assist in coordinating meetings, tracking action items, and maintaining electronic files. Develop and maintain a comprehensive directory of transition services and resources for NYC students and families.
  • Executive Director and Operations Team: Provide administrative support, prepare minutes, and collaborate with other Administrative Assistants to manage front desk operations.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of and alignment with AFC's mission.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience in non-profit organizations preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED required; 2-year or 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing and active listening skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable with technology and able to learn new applications.
What We Offer:
  • A comprehensive benefits package.
  • A salary in the $50,000 to $54,095 range, depending on experience.
  • A hybrid work environment with 2-3 days a week in the office and remote work on the remaining days.
