Business Operations Manager

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee the administrative functions within the Office of Interdisciplinary and Professional Studies. This role is pivotal in planning, executing, and managing various business operations, including finance, budgeting, personnel management, and facility oversight. The Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Director of IPS to ensure streamlined and effective operations.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily administrative activities of the IPS Office.
  • Establish internal protocols to facilitate efficient transaction processes.
  • Assess current office practices and propose enhancements.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for university and college regulations.
  • Guarantee adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.

Financial Oversight:

  • Collaborate with program directors and finance teams on budget formulation.
  • Analyze and evaluate business operations, focusing on budgetary support and process optimization.
  • Track spending and compile financial reports.
  • Support grant and award applications as well as financial documentation.

Personnel Management:

  • Supervise student assistants and delegate responsibilities.
  • Manage personnel documentation and actions.
  • Guide supervisors on disciplinary matters.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for faculty.

Support for Executive Director:

  • Assist with faculty appointments and hiring processes.
  • Ensure adherence to policies concerning faculty recruitment.
  • Provide administrative assistance for faculty meetings.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.

Essential skills encompass effective communication, strong interpersonal abilities, budget management expertise, and proficiency in computer applications.
