Business Operations Manager

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee the administrative functions within the Office of Interdisciplinary and Professional Studies. The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising a variety of business-related activities, including finance, budgeting, staffing, and facility management. This role requires close collaboration with the Executive Director of IPS to ensure streamlined operations.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and manage the daily administrative activities of the IPS Office.
  • Establish internal protocols to facilitate effective transaction processing.
  • Assess office procedures and propose enhancements for efficiency.
  • Act as a resource for university and college regulations.
  • Guarantee adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with program directors and finance teams on budget formulation.
  • Analyze and assess business operations, focusing on budgetary support and process enhancements.
  • Track expenditures and compile financial reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and financial documentation.

Human Resources:

  • Oversee student assistants and delegate tasks accordingly.
  • Facilitate personnel actions and manage related documentation.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors regarding disciplinary matters.
  • Support the faculty recruitment process.

Support for Executive Director:

  • Assist with faculty appointments and recruitment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations pertaining to faculty searches.
  • Offer administrative assistance for faculty meetings.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Required Skills:

Strong communication abilities, interpersonal skills, budget management expertise, and proficiency in computer applications are essential.
