The Role

Genai Works is seeking accomplished Research Scientists with proven experience in addressing complex challenges through deep learning methodologies. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to uncover innovations that will shape the future of voice-enabled applications and user experiences. Your responsibilities will include utilizing extensive audio and text datasets to develop foundational models that transcend basic speech transcription and text comprehension. The models you create will interpret nuanced meanings in intricate conversations, adapt to diverse speech patterns, and generate empathetic responses that mimic human-like, contextual speech. Collaboration with product and engineering teams will be essential to deploy these models within the most scalable voice API available.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement experimental programs to create new speech and language AI foundation models across various modalities and tasks, addressing critical customer needs.
  • Manage large-scale training operations on extensive distributed computing infrastructure.
  • Enhance model architectures for optimal speed and memory efficiency; deploy new models for widespread use.
  • Document and communicate results and complex technical concepts clearly for diverse audiences.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in deep learning, focusing on their implications and applications within our offerings.

It's Important To Us That You Have

  • A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in designing and executing experimental programs aimed at understanding complex phenomena, with the ability to adapt quickly as needed.
  • A proven track record of developing models from scratch and managing the entire deep learning pipeline, including data curation, architecture design, large-scale training, and model optimization.
  • Strong communication skills to simplify complex concepts for various audiences.
  • Robust software engineering capabilities, particularly in creating clean, modular code using Python and Pytorch.

It Would Be Great if You Had

  • Prior industry experience in constructing deep learning models to address intricate challenges, with a solid grasp of different neural network types, architectures, and loss functions.
  • A deep understanding and hands-on experience with state-of-the-art network architectures, including transformers.
  • Knowledge of various parallelism strategies for efficient distributed training.
