Position Overview

Twelve Labs is in search of a skilled AI Research Scientist to spearhead our initiatives in video representation and retrieval, multimodal language processing, and intelligent systems. As a pivotal member of our research team, you will work closely with the team leader to identify and implement AI research projects with a sense of responsibility and foresight. Your efforts will play a crucial role in influencing the trajectory of our products and their success in the competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead AI research initiatives vital for the enhancement of Twelve Labs' offerings, including video representation and retrieval, multimodal language processing, and intelligent agents.
  • Collaborate with the team leader to determine and execute AI research projects in a responsible and proactive manner.
  • Engage in discussions to establish data collection and annotation strategies for effective project execution.
  • Maintain consistent communication and provide constructive feedback among ML team members regarding ongoing research efforts.
  • Proactively engage with the team leader and other colleagues to share insights and updates on current projects.
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative culture that optimizes team efficiency and productivity.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrated research experience and interest in areas such as Video Understanding, Multimodal Language Processing, Vision + X, Open-domain Question Answering, Generative Models, Video Representation Learning, Action Recognition, or related fields.
  • Possession of a PhD in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree accompanied by 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Proven ability to independently manage and lead research projects.
  • Demonstrated passion and accountability in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Experience in developing large-scale commercial machine learning applications.
  • Familiarity with large-scale model training and optimization techniques.
  • Published works in prestigious AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NAACL, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, SIGGRAPH) pertaining to video, Vision + NLP, or multimodal research.
  • Notable achievements in international conference challenges, Kaggle competitions, or domestic AI contests.
  • Exceptional English writing and communication capabilities.
