The Role

Genai Works is seeking talented Research Scientists with proven experience in tackling complex challenges using deep learning techniques. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to achieve breakthroughs that will shape the future of voice-enabled applications and experiences. Your responsibilities will include utilizing extensive audio and text datasets to develop foundational models that transcend mere transcription and text comprehension. The models you create will capture nuanced meanings in intricate conversations, adapt to diverse speech patterns, and generate empathetic responses that mimic human-like, contextualized speech. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to deploy these models in the most scalable voice API available.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement experimental programs to develop new speech and language AI foundation models across various modalities and tasks, addressing critical customer challenges.
  • Manage large-scale training jobs on extensive distributed computing infrastructure.
  • Enhance model architectures for speed and memory efficiency; deploy new models for large-scale production use.
  • Document and communicate results and complex technical concepts clearly for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in deep learning, focusing on their implications and applications within our products.

It's Important To Us That You Have

  • A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and executing experimental programs aimed at understanding complex phenomena, with the ability to adapt and pivot as necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in building models from scratch and managing the entire deep learning process, including data curation, architecture design, large-scale training, and model optimization.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proficient software engineering skills, particularly in developing clean, modular code in Python and utilizing Pytorch.

It Would Be Great if You Had

  • Industry experience in developing deep learning models to address complex challenges, with a solid grasp of various neural network types, architectures, and loss mechanisms.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art network architectures, including transformers.
  • Understanding of different parallelism paradigms for efficient distributed training.
