Position Overview:

The role of the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) II is crucial in safeguarding our nation's information systems. As a member of our esteemed organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and update authorization packages for Automated Information Systems (AIS).
  • Notify stakeholders of any changes that may impact AIS authorization.
  • Conduct self-inspections of AIS and provide security oversight for system testing.
  • Identify vulnerabilities within AIS and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Represent the organization in technical reviews and inspections.
  • Conduct security assessments at various facilities and compile necessary documentation for system authorizations.
  • Coordinate and track AIS inspections, reports, and responses.
  • Maintain security records and prepare agreements for network nodes operating in government facilities.
  • Prepare reports detailing the status of security measures applied to computer systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies for the operation, maintenance, and disposal of AIS and network nodes.
  • Support in-house and external customers with ISSO duties.
  • Assist in the development of assessment and authorization efforts for Department of Defense and other organizations.
  • Conduct and track AIS training programs.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with security policies and relevant guiding documents.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and interact effectively with various personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Demonstrated originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated area of responsibility.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires effective communication with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
