Position Summary
Optimized Technical Solutions (OTS) is actively looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer - Information Security System Officer (ISSO). This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and security of our information systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Offer expert guidance and oversight on the security measures for Department of Defense (DoD) information systems.
- Engage in various routine project activities tailored to address specialized cybersecurity challenges.
- Provide cybersecurity assistance in the planning, design, development, testing, and integration of information systems.
- Support assessment and authorization processes for DoD information systems.
- Utilize eMASS for documenting results of security control tests.
- Create and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts related to NIST security control families, demonstrating experience with RMF, eMASS, ACAS, and the Air Force A&A process.
- Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in developing the System Security Plan using RMF for DoD Information Technology (IT).
- Conduct STIG reviews, remediation, and reporting.
- Integrate electronic processes or methodologies to address comprehensive system or technology issues concerning cybersecurity requirements.
- Collaborate with the ISSM to mitigate vulnerabilities identified through security scans.
- Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
- Security Clearance: Must possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Certification: DoD IAM Level II certification (e.g., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, etc.).
- Proficient in Risk Management Framework (RMF), risk assessments, and overall cybersecurity practices.
- Familiarity with the RMF and A&A processes, risk assessments, and security controls.
- Experience with STIGs and STIG Viewer.
- Ability to review security configurations effectively.
- Skilled in drafting Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and mitigation statements.
- Stay updated on industry security trends and relevant government regulations.
- Meet the technical requirements pertinent to cybersecurity roles and responsibilities.
- Capable of obtaining relevant DoD 8570.1M IA professional certification within 90 days of employment if required. Must be a US Citizen.
- Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based information systems is advantageous.
