Position Overview:

The Assembler plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing processes by executing bench-type tasks to finalize mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools, as well as electronic and pneumatic equipment. Prior experience in mechanical or electrical assembly is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to standard operating procedures or work instructions.
  • Execute assembly tasks to produce complete products as per manufacturing schedules.
  • Utilize various fixtures, hand tools, and specialized equipment to assemble, modify, measure, cut, drill, adjust, test, or repair products.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, both visual and functional, of materials/products before and after assembly.
  • Employ effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to assess the electrical and mechanical performance of finished assemblies.
  • Report any discrepancies in work orders, material lists, assembly instructions, or equipment issues to supervision.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with supervisors and team leads.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  • Comply with prescribed safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and related technology.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret visual aids such as drawings and blueprints.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with reading electrical diagrams is a plus.
  • Experience in wiring control panels is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the candidate is regularly required to communicate effectively. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, and controls is necessary. The position requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally, the candidate may lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Candidates must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
