Position Overview:

Fidelity TalentSource LLC is in search of a seasoned User Experience Architect to spearhead comprehensive architecture for the Brokerage sector. This pivotal role involves collaboration with product teams across various retail investing domains (including brokerage accounts, managed services, and banking services) as well as workplace investing sectors (such as 401(k) plans and health-related accounts) to craft solutions that align with business objectives and initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:

At Fidelity, we cater to a diverse clientele, ranging from retail brokerage customers to employers (401(k) providers) and other financial entities. This diversity necessitates a multitude of applications, currently totaling 12 distinct platforms, each managed by different business units. We have embarked on a transformative journey to consolidate our mobile application architecture and enhance user experiences across these platforms. The challenge lies in the varied architectures of our applications, which include fully native, hybrid/native, and fully hybrid models, with a wide range of technology stacks.

This role will be highly hands-on, responsible for steering the overall technical experience architecture of our foundational mobile platform. You will play a crucial role in shaping the vision and strategy for developing reusable experiences and frameworks that can be utilized by both hybrid and native applications. Your contributions will be vital to Fidelity's mobile strategy, aimed at delivering industry-leading mobile applications.

We seek an individual who can envision and guide our engineering and product teams in realizing this new platform. You will work collaboratively across various product areas and multiple business units, influencing the integration and consumption of the new web platform throughout the organization.



Required Expertise:

The following skills will be beneficial for success in this role:

  • Demonstrated experience in architecture, focusing on scalability, resilience, security, and data architecture.
  • Expertise in engineering mobile applications from inception to deployment, emphasizing customer experience, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles and their applications.
  • Experience with enterprise API implementation, utilizing REST and GraphQL (federation).
  • Ability to deconstruct user interfaces into smaller, reusable components and manage large-scale migrations.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in developing publicly available iOS or Android applications using Swift 3/4 and/or Objective-C, Cocoa Touch, UIKit, and XCode, or Kotlin.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies for creating high-performance and resilient iOS/Android applications.
  • Familiarity with hybrid frameworks such as Ionic Portals.

What to Anticipate:

Initial discussions will be held with the assigned Technical Recruiter to outline job expectations and employment criteria. Following this, you will engage with one of the Architecture Leads within the Fidelity Enterprise Architecture group. The process will culminate in a three-part multi-panel interview, where you can expect to address questions and scenarios related to end-to-end architectural solutions, technical expertise, and leadership topics with potential future colleagues.
