Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in various aspects of financial reporting and collaborates closely with the Assistant Controller to establish new processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and record journal entries, prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, and investigate and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Compile monthly financial reporting packages for one or more regional offices, including conducting variance analysis.
  • Research accounting standards and draft memos as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes and procedures aimed at enhancing month-end close and financial reporting, while improving coordination between property accounting and corporate accounting.
  • Support departmental initiatives to boost efficiency and optimize the use of available tools, including newly implemented ERP systems.
  • Analyze expenditures and assist in the preparation of budgets.
  • Prepare audit-related requests and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in multifamily property accounting is preferred.
  • Strong critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills.
  • In-depth understanding of financial concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
