The Senior Tax Manager role at SunSource is primarily focused on overseeing financial reporting related to income taxes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing the tax basis of fixed asset reporting, and engaging in strategic income tax planning. Please note that this position requires on-site presence and does not accommodate remote work arrangements.
Key Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
- Professional Certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in either the income tax department of a public accounting firm or the corporate income tax division of a multinational corporation.
- Proficient tax technical skills with a comprehensive understanding of domestic income tax laws.
- Capability to research tax issues, communicate findings, and propose actionable solutions. Familiarity with international taxation is beneficial.
- Knowledge of state and local tax regulations, including incentives for business operations in various jurisdictions.
- Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial statement audit process and its relation to income tax reporting.
- Experience collaborating with diverse departments (e.g., treasury, accounting, legal) on tax-related matters.
- Support tax due diligence during acquisition processes.
- Accountable for preparing and reviewing monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions.
- Identify and propose standardized policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of income tax financial reporting.
- Evaluate and manage tax risks in the U.S., including reviewing uncertain tax positions to ensure compliance with ASC 740 standards.
- Oversee the review of all income tax installment calculations.
- Utilize the annual budgeting process and financial forecasts to minimize cash payments and expedite the collection of applicable refunds.
- Coordinate the necessary information for compliance processes with various company subsidiaries and external service providers.
- Review all U.S. income and franchise tax returns.
- Monitor all annual report submissions.
- Assess tax fixed asset calculations.
- Recommend standardized policies and procedures to support the efficient and accurate preparation of all tax filings.
- Review annual returns for foreign affiliates.
- Effectively manage tax audits and respond to all tax-related notices and correspondence.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Oracle Planning and Budget Cloud Solution is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and deliver work accurately and on time.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess processes and identify improvements to establish best practices.
