The Lead Tax Strategist will be instrumental in overseeing financial reporting related to income taxes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing the tax implications of fixed assets, and engaging in strategic tax planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation and Review of U.S. Income Tax Provisions:
o Guarantee the precise and timely preparation of monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions in line with GAAP, including the management of deferred tax assets and liabilities.
• Oversight of Income Tax Installments:
o Supervise and validate the calculation of all income tax installments to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Cash Flow Management and Refund Processes:
o Leverage annual budgets and financial forecasts to optimize cash payments and facilitate refunds when applicable.
• Coordination of Compliance Activities:
o Collaborate with various company subsidiaries and external service providers to streamline information and compliance processes.
• Review of U.S. Income and Franchise Tax Returns:
o Conduct thorough reviews of all U.S. income and franchise tax returns to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitoring of Annual Report Submissions:
o Ensure the timely filing of all necessary annual reports.
• Review of Tax Fixed Asset Calculations:
o Validate calculations related to tax fixed assets for compliance and accuracy.
• Development of Standardized Policies and Procedures:
o Identify and propose standardized policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of tax preparation processes.
• Review of Annual Returns for International Affiliates:
o Ensure the accuracy of annual tax returns for international affiliates.
• Management of Tax Audits and Correspondence:
o Effectively manage all tax audits, including timely responses to tax notices and related correspondence.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MST designation preferred
- Familiarity with state and local tax regulations, including incentives for business operations in specific jurisdictions.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statement audits and income tax reporting.
- Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
