Position Summary:
Areté is seeking an Engineering Service Manager (ESM) to establish a team of proficient Engineering Service Representatives (ESR). This pivotal role is essential for the future growth in servicing the systems developed by Areté. The ESM will be responsible for creating the necessary processes and protocols to ensure effective troubleshooting and representation for Areté in various locations. A significant aspect of this position involves setting standards and exemplifying the qualities required for future Engineering Service Representatives. The systems supported may encompass a range of sensors, computing and processing systems, along with associated platform integration. Field responsibilities may include system updates, troubleshooting, hardware design modifications, documentation, and communication. The managerial duties will involve ensuring that these activities are adequately supported and consistently executed across multiple sites and teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with system operators for maintenance and troubleshooting of deployed systems.
  • Develop and uphold processes and procedures for Engineering Services in line with customer maintenance program specifications.
  • Carry out necessary Engineering Service tasks until a dedicated team can be established.
  • Recruit and oversee a team of Engineering Service Representatives to meet contract requirements.
  • Contribute to program meetings through content creation and presentations.
  • Embodies Areté's core values in all professional settings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure effective field operations.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings.
  • Maintain comprehensive logs and documentation of work performed for internal and client reference.
  • May require prompt travel to ensure high operational uptime and availability for clients.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret / SCI and SAP access.
  • A minimum of 8 years in Engineering Support Services.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) and VNIR/MWIR optical sensing systems.
  • Experience with Linux and process development.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in high-performance computing (HPC).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI access.
  • Current Counterintelligence Polygraph.
Additional Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is mandatory for this position. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. A background check and a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test are also required for eligibility.
