We are currently seeking a full-time Principal Investigator for Cultural Resources to enhance our Cultural Resources division in Arizona. This role can be fulfilled from our offices in Tucson or Phoenix. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in mentoring our cultural teams and providing expert guidance across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and coordinating technical research in cultural resources and authoring comprehensive reports.
  • Developing project proposals, including budget estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Managing archaeological field operations, including surveys, testing, monitoring, and data recovery.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with agency archaeologists, descendant communities, and museum professionals.
  • Supervising the processing and cataloging of artifacts according to repository standards.
  • Leading and mentoring teams of cultural resource specialists.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline. A master's degree combined with relevant experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of four years of supervisory experience in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) within the American Southwest.
  • Possession of an Arizona State Museum Principal Investigator permit or eligibility to obtain one.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal cultural resource regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing fieldwork, analysis, and report generation for extensive cultural resource surveys and data recovery initiatives.
  • Strong skills in drafting and reviewing technical archaeological documentation.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $76,000 - $114,000 annually.
