Compensation and Benefits Specialist

Hogsalt is seeking a committed and skilled Full Time Payroll Coordinator to become a vital part of our organization.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years in payroll processing
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred
- Adaptable scheduling as necessary based on business needs
- Familiarity with Workday or similar payroll systems is essential
- Understanding of payroll laws and compliance, including federal, state, and local regulations for NY, IL, and NV
- Strong commitment to confidentiality regarding sensitive employee data
- Analytical thinker with a solution-oriented approach and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Capability to create and maintain relevant reconciliations while identifying and addressing discrepancies
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verify that time cards are accurate and approved by management before payroll processing
- Communicate with team members regarding payroll-related questions as necessary
- Ensure precision in timecard coding, detect errors, and implement corrections in line with DOL regulations
- Consolidate labor reports, check for inaccuracies, process manual adjustments, and prepare report previews
- Assist in the timely processing of centralized weekly and bi-weekly payroll for various employment types
- Uphold the integrity of payroll and enforce the organization's payroll policies and procedures
- Aid in managing payroll deductions, garnishments, employment verifications, and unemployment inquiries
- Assist in ensuring accuracy in quarterly and year-end tax filings, including but not limited to 941s, 1095s, and W2s
- Process checks manually, make necessary adjustments, or execute stop payments as required
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Support operations in the training and utilization of HR and payroll software
