About Us

HealthCorps is a national non-profit organization dedicated to tackling health inequities through engaging programs that promote education, leadership, and community service among teens. We empower young individuals to become advocates for change within their families, schools, and neighborhoods. Our mission is rooted in the belief that equitable access to health education is essential for overcoming social, emotional, and physical challenges.

Your Role

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and proactive individual to spearhead a comprehensive wellness initiative in the community. This role will focus on empowering adolescents to adopt healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families, acting as a catalyst for sustainable health improvements.

As a Regional Program Coordinator, you will collaborate with a team of Regional Program Managers to train and oversee near-peer college mentors from local universities, ensuring the effective implementation of HealthCorps' established programs in middle schools. This includes organizing health-focused events, facilitating engaging campus activities, and coordinating community outreach efforts. You will work to build a network of community stakeholders, including educational institutions and local organizations, all united in the mission to enhance community health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster Collaborative Relationships: Partner with local universities, community organizations, and educational staff to ensure the successful delivery of health and wellness programming across multiple school sites.
  • Lead and Develop a Team: Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of near-peer mentors responsible for program execution in schools.
  • Evaluate Community Needs: Conduct research to identify health disparities within the community and assess the impact of your initiatives through systematic reporting and tracking.
  • Facilitate Program Delivery: Oversee the logistics of HealthCorps' activities and events, including scheduling, resource procurement, and other operational tasks.
  • Direct Engagement: Actively participate in delivering health education in schools and community settings, including conducting lessons and organizing educational events.
  • Promote Initiatives: Utilize your creativity to support the development and promotion of HealthCorps initiatives through various communication channels.
  • Commit to Our Mission: Uphold the values of health and wellness in your daily activities, striving to make health accessible for all.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Recent graduates with a strong commitment to health, education, and community service are encouraged to apply.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individuals are ideal for this role.
  • Experience or interest in mentoring youth and building community relationships is essential.
  • A passion for addressing health disparities in educational or community settings is crucial.

Skills Required

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to implement innovative programs.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • Ability to connect and collaborate with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated region.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 15 pounds may be required.

Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. HealthCorps is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, welcoming individuals from various backgrounds and experiences.
